Air India Delhi–Amritsar flight briefly enters Pakistani Airspace during go-around, probe ordered

An Air India flight operating from Delhi to Amritsar briefly entered Pakistani airspace during a go-around manoeuvre at Amritsar airport on June 22, the airline said.
According to Air India, flight AI479 inadvertently crossed into Pakistani airspace while executing the standard landing procedure after being required to abort its initial approach at Amritsar.
The airline said the incident has been reported to regulatory authorities and an internal investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances that led to the deviation.
Officials emphasised that the aircraft was following established safety procedures during the go-around, a routine aviation manoeuvre carried out when a landing approach is discontinued for safety reasons.
Air India stated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its highest priority and assured full cooperation with the ongoing inquiry.
Further details are awaited following the investigation.
