Adya Singh tops Bihar Foundation NICE 2026

The Bihar Foundation National Inter-College Crossword Expedition (Bihar Foundation NICE 2026), jointly organised by Extra-C and the Crossword Federation of India (CWFI) with the support of the Central Bank of India, witnessed an outstanding display of talent as girls made a clean sweep of the top four positions in the latest round of the national championship.
A special mention goes to Adya Singh of St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, who emerged as the Round Topper, securing the first position with an exceptional performance.
The latest round once again showcased the growing popularity of crossword solving as an educational activity that nurtures analytical thinking, logical reasoning, language proficiency, creativity and problem-solving skills among college students across India.
V Krishna Sai Gayatri of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus; Dhara Mittal from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar; Vijval Ekbote of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi); and Bhargav Vinayak of CCL were the other successful students.
Congratulating the winners, the organisers observed that the clean sweep by girls in the top three positions is a remarkable achievement and reflects the increasing participation and excellence of young women in intellectual competitions. They also commended the outstanding performances of participants from colleges and universities across the country, reaffirming the growing national appeal of the championship.
The organisers have announced that the N-Round of Bihar Foundation NICE 2026 will be held on July 26, 2026.
Expressing their gratitude, the organisers thanked the Bihar Foundation for lending its name to the championship and acknowledged the valuable support of the Central Bank of India, whose continued association has strengthened the mission of promoting knowledge, innovation and intellectual excellence among India’s youth through crossword-based learning initiatives.
