Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan join Producers Guild council; Sarkar re-elected
Mumbai, Sep 23 (PTI) Actors Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan have joined the Council of Management of the Producers Guild of India (PGI), while Shibasish Sarkar has been unanimously re-elected as its president for a fifth consecutive year.
The new Council of Management was constituted at the Guild's 72nd Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, following which Sarkar was re-elected at its first meeting.
"I am deeply honoured to be elected as President for the fifth year. I, along with my Council of Management colleagues, look forward to working closely with all PGI members in navigating both the opportunities and challenges that our industry is faced with," Sarkar said in a statement.
Filmmakers Karan Johar, Rajkumar Hirani, Ritesh Sidhwani, Ashutosh Gowariker and Zoya Akhtar have also joined as council members.
Other members include Pallab Bhattacharya, Rajan Shahi, Sharad Patel, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Utpal Acharya and Vishesh Bhatt.
The Guild's existing leadership team, including vice presidents Aashish Singh, Ankur Garg, Madhu Bhojwani and Manish Goswami, will continue in their roles. Sushilkumar Agrawal and Hiren Gada have also been elected as vice presidents.
Ashim Samanta and Fazila Allana will continue as treasurers.
The Guild's permanent members are Amit Khanna, Kiran V Shantaram, Manmohan Shetty, Mukesh Bhatt and Randhir Kapoor, while Kamalkumar Barjatya and Ramesh Sippy are members emeritus.
Nitin Tej Ahuja will continue as the guild's chief executive officer.
