97.38% pass CBSE Class 10 exams in Delhi

Delhi recorded a strong overall pass percentage of 97.38 per cent in the Class 10 board examinations declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday, reflecting stable academic performance across the capital.
Among the two administrative zones, Delhi West performed slightly better with a pass percentage of 97.45 per cent, while Delhi East recorded 97.33 per cent. A total of 3,45,227 students from Delhi appeared in the examination, out of which 3,36,176 successfully cleared it.
At the national level, CBSE reported an overall pass percentage of 93.7 per cent. More than 55,000 students across the country scored above 95 per cent marks, while over 2.21 lakh students secured more than 90 per cent.
Girls continued to outperform boys in the results. The pass percentage among girls stood at 94.99 per cent, compared to 92.69 per cent for boys. Transgender candidates recorded a pass percentage of 87.50 per cent.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said the results were announced earlier than usual due to faster evaluation. He said nearly 1.6 crore answer sheets were evaluated in record time, enabling the board to declare results almost a month ahead of schedule.
This year, more than 24.71 lakh students appeared for the examinations conducted at 8,074 centres. On February 21 alone, around 24.95 lakh students took exams, making it one of the largest single-day examination exercises. The process involved more than 10 lakh rooms and about 20 lakh invigilators.
In line with the National Education Policy, CBSE introduced a two-phase examination system for Class 10 students this year.
