50 Bangladeshi nationals sent to West Bengal by train for deportation

A group of 50 Bangladeshi nationals detained in Tamil Nadu has been sent to West Bengal by train as part of the process to deport them to Bangladesh, officials said on Saturday. The group, comprising 44 men and six women, had been lodged at a special detention camp in Salem district's Attur after being identified as undocumented foreign nationals.
Following official deportation orders, the detainees were transported under tight security from Salem to Tiruchirappalli, where they boarded a specially designated coach on the Howrah Express. A 40-member armed police team, led by a senior police officer, is escorting them during the journey.
Upon reaching West Bengal, the Tamil Nadu Police will hand them over to the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Haridaspur border, after which the BSF will complete the repatriation process with Bangladeshi authorities.
Officials said the detention camp in Attur continues to house over 130 foreign nationals whose legal cases are pending or who have been released on bail. The latest deportation is part of ongoing efforts by Indian authorities to identify and repatriate undocumented foreign nationals through established legal procedures.
