5 shooters linked to Arzoo–Bishnoi syndicate held
Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested five alleged shooters linked to the Arzoo and Anmol Bishnoi–Harry Boxer syndicate, foiling what officers said was a plan to carry out another major crime in the national Capital.
The arrests have brought under control gunmen wanted in at least three high-profile murders across Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. The accused were arrested in two coordinated operations after police tracked their movement into Delhi in batches. Four firearms and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered. Investigators believe the group had gathered in the city to execute a fresh attack before being intercepted.
“With these arrests, shooters involved in multiple sensational murders have been neutralised, and a potentially heinous crime in Delhi has been prevented,” Additional Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, PS Kushwah said.
Those arrested have been identified as Piyush Piplani (28), Ankush Solanki (23), Kuwarbir (30), Lovepreet Singh (26) and Santokh alias Kapil Khatri (29). Police said all five are hardened criminals with long histories of violent offences across several states.
According to investigators, Piplani was the main shooter in the murder of Inderpreet Singh alias Parry in Chandigarh’s Sector 26 on December 1. He was also the lead shooter in the killing of national-level kabaddi player Sonu Nolta in Panchkula in June. Ankush Solanki was also involved in both murders and was absconding, with a non-bailable warrant pending against him.
