32-year-old property dealer shot dead in Shastri Park area

A 32-year-old property dealer was shot dead by unidentified assailants in northeast Delhi’s Shastri Park area late Saturday night. The incident sent fresh shockwaves through the district a day after a similar shooting inside a cafe in the Welcome area. The victim, identified as Sameer alias Mustaqeem alias Kamoo Pehalwan, was riddled with bullets near Bihari Chowk while he was out for a walk after dinner. He collapsed on the spot and was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Confirming the incident, Northeast Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashish Mishra stated that the police received information about a firing incident at Shastri Park police station at around 11:24 pm on January 24.
“On reaching the spot near Buland Masjid, it was found that the injured, Sameer, had already been taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by his family members, where he was declared brought dead,” the DCP said.
According to police, the killing took place near Buland Masjid in the Shastri Park area. The victim lived there with his family. Sameer was involved in property dealings and was locally known as Kamoo Pehalwan. He stepped out of his house after dinner for a routine walk.
