22-year-old wanted in recent firing case in north Delhi arrested

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a 22-year-old man who was wanted in a recent firing case in north Delhi and had been absconding since the incident.
The accused, identified as Krish alias Kinni, was apprehended by the Northern Range-I team during a special drive against desperate and wanted criminals.
Krish, a resident of E-Block, Jahangirpuri, was wanted in FIR No 60/26 dated January 25, 2026, registered at Mahindra Park police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. He had allegedly opened fire in the area along with an associate to settle a personal enmity.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Pankaj Kumar said the arrest reflects the firm commitment of Delhi Police towards maintaining law and order and bringing absconding criminals to justice.
He said the accused was arrested after due legal procedure under Section 35(1)(b) of the BNSS and in compliance with Supreme Court guidelines.
Police said the accused and his associate had fired at two persons, Anmol and Salman, on January 24. Fortunately, no one sustained bullet injuries. After the incident, both accused fled and were evading arrest.
On February 28, acting on DD No 74A, a Crime Branch team was in the Jahangirpuri area to gather information about criminals on the run.
At around 11.15 am, police received specific input that Krish had been seen near Shah Alam Bandh Road.
After obtaining necessary permission from senior officers, a raiding team was formed. The accused was identified at the instance of a secret informer and was apprehended after swift action.
During interrogation, Krish admitted that he and his associate had opened fire due to personal rivalry.
He also disclosed that he had been hiding at different locations to avoid arrest.
Verification of his criminal record revealed that he was previously involved in a similar firing case registered at the Jahangirpuri police station.
In May 2025, he had allegedly fired gunshots in the area along with his friends and was sent to jail in that case.
Police said Krish studied up to Class 10 but dropped out and later fell into bad company. He also became addicted to alcohol. His associate in the January firing case is still being traced.
Officials described the arrest as a major success in the ongoing drive against offenders involved in violent crimes.
The Crime Branch said efforts are on to apprehend other absconding accused and curb incidents of firing linked to personal rivalries.
