2 hospitals get National Quality Assurance Standards certification

Delhi’s public healthcare system received a major boost after Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital and Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital was awarded National Quality Assurance Standards certification by the Union Government. The certification was granted after both hospitals recorded high scores in a nationwide quality assessment process.
According to the Delhi Government, LNJP Hospital secured 95.89 percent, while Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya Hospital scored 96.72 percent under the National Quality Assurance Standards framework. The certification recognises the quality of healthcare services and hospital management systems across various departments.
The assessment covered several important healthcare services, including outpatient care, intensive care units, blood bank services, labour rooms, radiology departments, laboratories, emergency facilities, and maternal healthcare services. The evaluation also examined support services and overall patient care standards at the hospitals.
Delhi Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh described the certification as an important achievement for the capital’s public healthcare system. He said the recognition reflected the Government’s continued efforts to improve healthcare delivery and provide quality treatment in Government hospitals.
Dr. Singh said the Delhi Government was focusing on strengthening hospital infrastructure, improving patient services, and expanding access to modern medical facilities. He added that the Government aimed to ensure that people received reliable and quality healthcare services in public hospitals.
The Health Minister also said the Government was prioritising cleanliness and hygiene in hospitals under the Kayakalp initiative. He stated that several reforms were being introduced to modernise healthcare services across Delhi.
Highlighting upcoming projects, Dr Singh said 14 MRI machines and more than 25 ultrasound machines would soon be installed in Delhi Government hospitals. According to him, the move would improve diagnostic services and reduce the inconvenience faced by patients seeking tests and scans.
He said Delhi’s Government hospitals were steadily moving towards higher healthcare standards through improved infrastructure, better sanitation, and enhanced medical facilities. The addition of new diagnostic equipment, he said, would help strengthen treatment capacity and improve patient care.
