2 arrested for throwing eggs at TMC Leader Kunal Ghosh in Kolkata

In Kolkata, police have arrested 2 individuals in connection with an incident where Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh was allegedly targeted with eggs outside Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence in the Kalighat area.
According to officials, the incident occurred on Monday evening when Kunal Ghosh was interacting with media personnel after attending a party-related meeting at the residence of the West Bengal Chief Minister. During the interaction, an unidentified person allegedly threw an egg at him before fleeing the spot.
Security personnel present in the area immediately responded, and an investigation was launched to identify the accused. Police later detained two persons in connection with the incident and are currently questioning them to determine the motive behind the act.
Preliminary reports suggest that the attack may have been a protest-driven act, though authorities have not officially confirmed any political linkage. Further investigation is underway to ascertain whether more individuals were involved.
The incident has drawn attention due to its location outside the residence of the Chief Minister and has raised concerns over security arrangements in the high-security zone of Kalighat.
