19 hurt as pick-up van overturns in Odisha's Rayagada

Nineteen people were injured after their pick-up van overturned in Odisha's Rayagada district on Friday, Aug 21 police said.

The accident took place at Talna Ghat, in the Puttasing police station area, around 6 am, when about 35 workers were travelling on the van from Sagada to Padmapur, police said.

All the injured were admitted to Gunpur sub-division hospital, an officer said. Ten were discharged after primary treatment, while nine seriously injured were shifted to Paralakhemundi hospital for further treatment.

Police said the vehicle had been seized and an investigation was under way.
