13 SSB personnel honoured with President’s Medals

On the eve of the 77th Republic Day, the President of India has conferred medals upon 13 officers and personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in recognition of their distinguished and meritorious service.
The honours include the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM). Two senior officials, Inspector General Ganesh Kumar (IPS) and Inspector General Sudhir Verma, have been awarded the prestigious PSM for their exemplary careers and outstanding contributions to the force.
Additionally, 11 personnel were honoured with the Medal for Meritorious Service. The recipients include Deputy Inspector General Ranjit Kangat, Commandant (now DIG) Hari Prakash, and Commandants Priyavrat Sharma, Dr Hrishikes Sen, and Dr Likmabam Kumarjit Singh.
Other awardees include Second-in-Command Mingma Dhondup Tamang, Deputy Commandants Philem Basanta Singh and Lalit Kumar, and Assistant Commandants Desh Raj and Saquinder Kumar. Inspector Rumpa Garain was also among those recognised for their dedicated service.
Director General of the SSB, Shri Sanjay Singhal, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the awardees and their families. He lauded their exceptional dedication and commitment, stating that their achievements serve as a significant source of inspiration for the entire force. The SSB, which guards India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan, continues to play a pivotal role in national security and border management.
