The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is taking concrete steps to empower Divyangjan and make them self-reliant.
Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to have two dedicated universities for the higher education of Divyangjan. Additionally, 25 childhood care centres provide essential facilities to children with special needs.
In a significant move, the government is carrying out a comprehensive rejuvenation of deaf and dumb schools in six districts before the new academic session. These efforts aim to enhance educational and training facilities for Divyangjan, ensuring their seamless integration into mainstream society.
To further strengthen this initiative, the Yogi government has approved significant funds for developing special schools and training centres in several districts. A sum of Rs 148.91 lakh has been sanctioned for purchasing furniture, equipment and utensils at the Integrated Special Secondary School in Pratapgarh.
Similarly, Rs 130.69 lakh has been allocated for the smooth operation of the Government Inter College for Deaf and Dumb Children in Sonbhadra, while Rs 96.26 lakh has been approved for establishing a new Mentally Retarded Shelter Home-cum-Training Centre in Lucknow.
The government has also earmarked Rs 130.69 lakh to upgrade facilities at Sanket Government Deaf and Dumb School in Gorakhpur, Rs 123.22 lakh for making the newly constructed Mamta Government Mentally Retarded School in Chandauli operational, and another Rs 130.69 lakh for expanding facilities at the Government Inter College in Kushinagar for deaf and dumb girls.
With these financial approvals, Divyangjan will access improved education and training, empowering them to become self-reliant and actively participate in society.
The Yogi government is also focused on creating employment opportunities for Divyangjan through better education. Currently, two universities in UP are dedicated to higher education of Divyangjan, setting an example for the country. Apart from this, 25 Bachpan Care Centres provide specialised care and training to Divyang children.
The government’s primary goal is to connect Divyangjan with the mainstream and facilitate their journey toward self-reliance by allocating a significant budget for special education institutions and shelter homes, ensuring the availability of modern resources and infrastructure.
With these efforts of the Yogi government, Divyangjan will get a better education and training and be able to get employment in various fields according to their capabilities. The Yogi government’s commitment to inclusive development is reflected in its efforts to create equal opportunities for every citizen.
The state also plans to establish more education centres, shelter homes, and vocational training institutes for Divyangjan while enhancing digital education, employment-oriented training, and overall development.
By taking these steps, the Yogi government reinforces its dedication to building an inclusive and empowered society for Divyangjan, ensuring their holistic growth and integration into the mainstream.
