In the Dandai police station area of Garhwa district, Renu Devi (30 years old), wife of Chandan Prasad, was seriously injured in a knife attack by unknown assailants. Following the incident, local residents helped her to get admitted to the Sadar Hospital for treatment. After initial treatment, she was referred to a higher centre due to her critical condition.
According to reports, Renu Devi was alone at home when a young man arrived on a motorcycle and suddenly attacked her neck with a knife. After she screamed, neighbours arrived, but by then the woman had fallen to the ground and the accused had fled. Upon receiving information about the incident, family members arrived at the Sadar Hospital.
The Dandai police have confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway. They added that it would be premature to comment further at this stage.
