Tuesday, 25 March 2025 | PNS | Gwalior

India's tradition of hospitality is unparalleled worldwide, where guests are revered as gods, reflecting the nation’s rich culture and the ethos of Atithi Devo Bhava (Guest is God). These sentiments were expressed by Sanjar Masadikov, UN Political Affairs Officer, during a civic felicitation and book release ceremony at the International Centre of Media Excellence.

Masadikov, who was the chief guest, shared his admiration for India, stating, "I have traveled across the world, but the respect and hospitality I have received in India is beyond imagination."

Ulan Umetov, a prominent businessman from Kyrgyzstan, was the special guest at the event, while Dr. Keshav Pandey, Director of the International Centre of Media Excellence, presided over the function.

The event commenced with a traditional Indian welcome as intellectuals of the city greeted the foreign dignitaries with garlands, symbolizing Indian cultural hospitality. During the ceremony, thought-provoking discussions on Indian culture, civilization, religion, and history took place, fostering an exchange of ideas between the foreign guests and local intellectuals.

A key highlight of the event was the release of the book "Power of English Speaking," authored by Evangel Athial, a renowned educationist from the city.

In keeping with Indian tradition, Dr. Keshav Pandey honored the distinguished guests by presenting them with shawls, coconuts, and mementoes as tokens of appreciation. In return, the foreign dignitaries gifted Dr. Pandey a traditional Kyrgyzstan dress, expressing their gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to them. The ceremony was conducted by Mahesh Mudgal, while Deepak Tomar delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all participants.

Several prominent figures from the city graced the occasion, including Vijay Pandey, Rambabu Katare, Dr. Aditya Bhadoria, SK Sharma, Chandrakant Sharma, Kailash Mudgal, Dr. Ayub Khan, Sanjeev Nigotia, Bhupendra Kant, Manju Soni, Harish Pawar, Vijay Parashar, Prakash Lokwani, Sanjay Lakshkar, Biju Kumar, Bablu Bhosale, Rajesh Awasthi, Ashish Mishra, Manish Sharma, and Devendra, among others.
