Jharkhand bagged three medals on the last day of the Under 14 Boys/Girls category athletics under the 68th National School Games Competition. Jharkhand players performed well in the competitions. Jharkhand's Santosh Murmu won bronze medal in Under 14 Boys category long jump, Jharkhand's Emmanuel Kisku, Ashwin Nagudwar, Ankit Kumar and Upendra Kumar's quartet won bronze medal in Boys category 4x100 meter relay and Jharkhand's Soni Kumari won bronze medal in Girls category long jump.
Tamil Nadu players continued their strong performance on the last day of this competition. Tamil Nadu won five medals on the last day. Tamil Nadu team became the overall winner in both the categories with 64 points, after which Uttar Pradesh team became runner-up with 54 points. Uttar Pradesh became the winner with 46 points in the Under 14 Boys/Girls category athletics under the 68th National School Games Competition, Tamil Nadu team became runner-up with 32 points in this competition. In the girls category competition, Maharashtra team became the winner with 36 points, Tamil Nadu team became the runner-up with 32 points.
In the competitions, Kulli Parveen of Telangana got gold medal in 100 meter race in boys category, Kuda Raghavendra of Andhra Pradesh got silver medal and Rathod Karthik of Telangana got bronze medal. In the boys category 200 meter race, Inba Tamilan of Tamil Nadu got gold medal, Gudal of Telangana got silver medal and Arnav Singh of Uttar Pradesh got bronze medal. In the boys category 400 meter race, Mohammed Sameer Khan of Uttar Pradesh got gold medal, Inba Tamilan of Tamil Nadu got silver medal and Surya of Haryana got bronze medal. In the boys category 600 meter race, Mohammed Sameer Khan of Uttar Pradesh got gold medal, Divyanshu of Rajasthan got silver medal and Jaideep of Haryana got bronze medal.
In the boys category 80 meter hurdles, Akash Raj of Bihar got gold medal, Suraj Yadav of Bihar got silver medal and Munthala of Andhra Pradesh got bronze medal. In boys category long jump, Vishnu Yadav of Uttar Pradesh got gold medal, Kavya Sharma of Rajasthan got silver medal and Santosh Murmu of Jharkhand got bronze medal. In boys category high jump, Longjam of Manipur got gold medal, Anand Kumar of Bihar got silver medal and Mohit of Haryana got bronze medal.
In this competition, Jamadar Kerai of Jharkhand remained at fourth position. In boys category shot put 4 kg, Tharnesh of Tamil Nadu got gold medal, Akash Kumar of Bihar got silver medal and Abhinay Anand of Haryana got bronze medal. In boys category 1 kg discus throw, Abhiraj of Vidyabharati got gold medal, Tharnesh of Tamil Nadu got silver medal and Guleli Chandra of Andhra Pradesh got bronze medal. In boys category 4x100 meter relay, Uttar Pradesh got gold medal, Vidyabharati got silver medal and Jharkhand got bronze medal. In the girls' 100 meter race, Mansa Devi of CBSC got the gold medal, Amira of International Board got the silver medal and Gaini Nakshthar of Telangana got the bronze medal. In the girls' 200 meter race, Bhargavi Deshmukh of Maharashtra got the gold medal, Mansa Devi of CBSC got the silver medal and Kiyona of CFTI got the bronze medal. In the girls' 400 meter race, Devika of Rajasthan got the gold medal, Jahnavi of Maharashtra got the silver medal and S Krithika of Kendriya Vidyalaya got the bronze medal.
All the winners were awarded medals by Jharkhand Youth Commission Chairman Kumar Gaurav, Member Secretary Ved Ratna Mohan, JAA President C.D. Singh, Secretary AK Pandey, State Program Officer Mr. Dhirasen Soreg, Olympian Sanjay Rai. More than 1000 players from 35 state/institution teams from across the country were participating in the Under 14 Boys/Girls category athletics under the 68th National School Games Competition.
