Two women doctors killed, four injured in car crash in Shivpuri

In a tragic road accident occurred in Shivpuri district claimed the lives of two women doctors and left four others injured on Sunday morning. The accident occurred near Lukwasa village under the jurisdiction of Kolaras police station, according to police officials.

The ill-fated vehicle, carrying six doctors from Maharashtra, was en route from Ayodhya to Ujjain as part of a pilgrimage when it lost control and crashed into a culvert. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in the death of one doctor on the spot while another succumbed to her injuries during treatment at the hospital.

Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Vijay Yadav confirmed the incident, stating, "The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the Kolaras police station area. Dr. Tanvi Acharya (50) died on the spot, while Dr. Neelam Pandit (55) was declared dead at the district hospital."

Preliminary investigations suggest that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle while navigating the culvert, leading to the fatal crash. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the injured doctors were immediately transported to the district hospital for treatment.

The four injured doctors, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, are reported to be in stable condition. Medical staff at the hospital are closely monitoring their recovery.

According to sources, the group of doctors had embarked on a religious pilgrimage from Maharashtra about 15 days ago, visiting several sacred sites in Uttar Pradesh. They were on their way to Ujjain when the accident took place.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, including the possibility of driver fatigue or mechanical failure. The police are also coordinating with the victims' families and making arrangements for the bodies to be sent back to Maharashtra.

The tragic incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the medical community, with colleagues and loved ones mourning the loss of two dedicated professionals.

Further inquiries are ongoing as police seek to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
