The tribal community is upset with the clash during the Sarhul procession on Tuesday. The tribals allege that on April 1, during the Sarhul procession, there was a clash in Hetbalu Toli in Pithoria's Balu village, in which Pahan was targeted. There is a lot of anger in the community after the attack.
The tribal organizations have clearly demanded the arrest of accused from the district administration within 24 hours failing to which the tribal organisation have threatened the blockade of Pithoria road. The tribals have stated that if needed, a movement will be started in the entire state.
Central Sarna Committee President Ajay Tirkey and Kanke Sarna Committee President Ranjit Toppo have given a 24-hour ultimatum to the administration. He said that if the attackers are not caught, the Pithoria road will be blocked. The market will be closed. The leaders of the Sarna Committee said that the people of the tribal community participate in the festivals of all religions. Festivals of other religions are not disturbed at all. But in Hetbalu, a well-planned attack was launched when the string of the bright foil fringe put up during Eid broke. Where this incident took place, there is only one house of the people of the other side. Still, a large number of people had gathered to create a dispute. The attack was launched with sharp weapons. Four people including Pahan were injured in this.
At present, there is a tense situation in the entire area. There is tremendous anger among the people of the tribal community in Hetbalu. A person said that due to a few mischievous elements, the tradition of Phulkhosi, which is held the next day of Sarhul, was also disturbed. However, a police team is also deployed at the spot of the incident. The police have given a written assurance that within 24 hours, the named attackers will be arrested and legal action will be taken.
Meanwhile, Sarhul rallies were taken out by several Sarhul committees from the tribal community from different areas in the city. This festival is the most historic festival celebrated in the state of Jharkhand. In this festival, nature is worshipped and prayers are offered. This festival is also considered as the New Year of the tribal communities.
Former Chief Minister and Union Minister Arjun Munda and Jamshedpur East BJP MLA Purnima Sahu attended the Sarhul rally in Jamshedpur's Oraon Basti. Purnima Sahu was seen in tribal attire and danced with the women. Birsanagar Sarhul Committee took out a Sarhul rally demanding Sarna Dharma Code. The rally was taken out with the slogan 'Implement Sarna Dharma Code' on the banner.
