Traffic system changed in city on Mahashivratri

On the occasion of Mahashivratri, a grand Shiv procession will be taken out in Ranchi on February 26. In view of this, changes have been made in the traffic system of the city.

Some routes have been banned due to Shiv Barat. Entry of all vehicles before New Market Chowk will be banned during the procession, heavy vehicles, cargo vehicles and city ride buses going towards the city area from Pandra, Piska turn will remain closed, small vehicles will be able to come and go through these routes, entry of vehicles will be prohibited during the procession beyond Piska turn, there will be no entry of big vehicles from 5 am to 10 pm and big vehicles will not be able to enter the city from Booti turn via Bariatu, but small vehicles will be able to go towards Jail Chowk from Karamtoli Chowk.

Shiv Barat will start from Indrapuri Ratu Road and will end at RR Sporting Durga Puja Committee premises located at Ratu Road via Metro Gali, Ratu Road, Rani Sati Temple, Pahadi Mandir, Bano Mandil Marg, Gadikhan, Cart Sarai Road, JJ Road, Shahid Chowk, Pustak Path, Jyoti Sangam, Gandhi Chowk, Marwari Toli, Mahavir Chowk, Paida Toli. Traffic police has appealed to the people to use the procession route as little as possible on the day of Shivratri.

Goods vehicles coming from different directions in the city will be able to come only till the designated places. Vehicles coming from Kanke to Ranchi will be able to come till Bodeya, vehicles coming from Chaibasa-Khunti will be able to come till Birsa Chowk, vehicles coming from Gumla-Simdega will be able to come till Kathal Mor, vehicles coming from Palamu-Lohardaga will be able to come till Piska Mor, ITI Bus Stand, Durga Soren Chowk, Kusai Ghaghra.

Small vehicles will be able to go to their destination from Ram Mandir Mor via New Market Chowk.

On Mahashivratri, the hill temple will be decorated with flowers and colourful lights. After the government puja at 3 am, the doors will be opened for devotees from 4 am. 2000 pots have been arranged for Jalaparna. 250 volunteers and 50 Pahans will be deployed to serve the devotees. NCC, district administration and volunteers will be deployed for security. Devotees have been appealed not to come wearing gold or precious items and to keep their name, number and address written in their children's pockets.
