Strict security arrangements for Ram Navami in State

Strict security arrangements have been made in Ranchi to ensure peaceful completion of Ram Navami festival. 12 Dy SPs, 40 Inspectors, 300 Sub-Inspectors and 3500 Jawans have been deployed to strengthen the security system.

Special surveillance is being kept by marking sensitive places. 20 police station areas of the city are being monitored with drones. The SHOs of the concerned police station have been given the responsibility of monitoring with drones.

Police have marked more than 25 points in other areas including Doranda, Main Road, Kanke, Nagari, Ratu, Pithoria, Budhmu, Mandar and Bariatu, where the deployed jawans have been instructed to remain alert 24 hours a day.

Ranchi DC Manjunath Bhajantri has issued clear instructions citing the orders of the Jharkhand High Court regarding Ram Navami. The High Court has allowed partial power supply to be shut down only for a minimum time. He told the Akhada committees to keep the maximum height of flags in Ram Navami procession to four meters.

The DC has warned that high flags, tableaux and sound systems in the procession can be dangerous. These can cause accidents by coming in contact with electric wires. Therefore, their height should not be more than 4 meters. According to the GM of the Electricity Department, the height of 11 KV wires is 4.6 meters. In such a situation, high flags and sound systems can be dangerous.

DC also directed that while hoisting the flag, take care of the electric wires, any kind of negligence can lead to an unpleasant incident, so while hoisting the flag, the distance between the wires and equipment should be taken care of, no one should sit on the roof of buses and vehicles, it is forbidden for a person to sit on the roof of any big vehicle or to put high material, the height of the sound system should be limited, sound boxes or loudspeakers should not be installed above the height of the vehicle.

Bhajantri said that there should be special monitoring of the volunteers, the volunteers of the committee should be deployed to keep an eye on the devotees during the procession, so that there is no negligence, maintain distance from the electric wires, devotees should not touch the electric wires, nor contact them with any stick or other means, inflammatory, controversial material will be prohibited and contact the administration in case of any problem.
