Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai on Tuesday demanded a judicial enquiry against minister Sanjay Nishad and others against whom serious allegations were made by their own party leader Dharmatma Nishad, who allegedly ended his life recently. The party also demanded the removal of the minister from Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet until the inquiry is completed.
Expressing grief over the death, Ajay Rai on Tuesday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding that a judicial enquiry be conducted into the incident, as this matter concerns the purity of the political conduct of the accused minister, as well as his personal behaviour. Until an impartial enquiry is conducted into this matter, the minister has no right to remain in the cabinet, he said
Through the letter, Rai also demanded that the chief minister provide a sum of Rs 1 crore as humanitarian assistance to the family of Dharmatma Nishad and offer an appointment in government service to his closest successor. Rai urged the chief minister to take the incident seriously and order an immediate impartial judicial enquiry against the accused minister Sanjay Nishad, while also issuing instructions for his removal from the cabinet.
It may be mentioned that the state secretary of the NISHAD Party, Dharmatma Nishad, allegedly committed suicide in Maharajganj after writing a long post on Facebook, making serious allegations against the president of the party, Sanjay Nishad, minister in the BJP government, and his two sons. The family has demanded legal action against them.
