Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana on April 14 to inaugurate the Hisar Airport and also lay the foundation stone of a new 800 MW unit thermal power plant in Yamunanagar district.
“Prime Minister Modi will be the chief guest in a state-level function to be organized on the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14. Whenever Prime Minister Modi has visited Haryana, he has given gifts to the State,” said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday while interacting with the reporters in Chandigarh.
Saini, flanked by his Ministers Krishan Kumar Bedi, Krishan Pal Panwar, and Vipul Goel, said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate inaugurate Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar to open commercial operations and lay the foundation stone of a new 800-MW unit at the Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (DCRTPP) in Yamunanagar district coming up for Rs 7,272 crore.
State Budget reflects people’s priorities and aspirations
Saini said that the State Budget for the financial year 2025-26 is a reflection of the priorities and aspirations of the people of Haryana. To fulfill these aspirations, the budget includes a commitment to complete 90 of the Sankalp Patra's promises within this year. So far, the government has fulfilled 19 of the 217 commitments in the Sankalp Patra, and work is ongoing on 14 others.
The Chief Minister, while making a mention of the ‘Sankalps’ made in the budget 2025-26, said that to make Haryana ‘future-ready’, a new department called ‘Department of Future’ will be created. Additionally, the Haryana AI Mission will be established, and AI hubs will be set up in Gurugram and Panchkula. Women farmers will be provided interest-free loans of up to Rs one lakh to establish dairy farms. Besides, a new Model Sanskriti School will be opened within every 10 km radius, and one government Model Sanskriti School in each district will be developed into a Centre of Excellence in Sports, Saini added.
“A bill to curb the sale of counterfeit seeds and pesticides is introduced in the ongoing Vidhan Sabha session. Moreover, this year’s budget includes a commitment to organizing ‘Haryana Math Olympiad’ every year for students in Classes X to XII. Medal winners in World Skills Olympiad will be awarded cash prizes of up to Rs 10 lakh. Day-care centers for cancer patients will be established in 17 districts. The number of MBBS seats in the state will be increased from 2,185 to 2,485, and 10 new Integrated Manufacturing Townships (IMTs) will be developed in the state,” he added.
He said that under the ‘One District One Product’ scheme, 10 new industrial clusters will be created. An urban drainage fund of Rs 100 crore will be established in cities. A sports complex will be constructed in each municipal area. All old landfill sites will be 100 percent cleaned. Every city will witness transformation of an old market into a smart market, and every village will see the revitalization of one street as a smart street, Saini added.
The Chief Minister said that under the ‘Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon scheme’, 5,877 villages are already receiving 24-hour electricity. A new scheme will be launched for the remaining 1,376 villages. Besides, under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the target is to install 2.22 lakh solar rooftops by March 31, 2027. So far, 15,000 homes have been fitted with 2 kW solar rooftops.
Accuses Cong of misleading people on State Budget
Saini alleged that Congress leaders were misleading the masses about the state’s budget for political interest. Taking a dig at Congress, Saini said that party's leaders were more concerned about securing their own positions than thinking about the country.
