Relief is in sight for the residents of Bagbera as efforts to resolve the long-standing garbage disposal issue are gaining momentum. Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar has raised the matter in the Jharkhand Assembly during the zero hour, urging the government to allocate a dedicated site for waste disposal in the area.
MLA Sardar emphasized that Bagbera residents have been suffering from pollution, unhygienic conditions, and health hazards due to the absence of a proper waste disposal site. With no designated location for garbage dumping, waste accumulates at key intersections and main roads, leading to an increase in mosquitoes and other disease-causing factors.
This is not the first time MLA Sanjib Sardar has brought up the issue. Over the years, he has continuously raised concerns at various administrative levels. While temporary relief has been provided during festivals through garbage collection initiatives led by Jusco and Jugsalai Municipality, he is now advocating for a long-term and sustainable solution.
Sardar stressed that the problem must be permanently addressed rather than being handled in a piecemeal manner. He called upon the government to take definitive action and ensure that a dedicated site for waste disposal is established in Bagbera .
Local residents, who have long struggled with the issue, are now hopeful that concrete measures will be taken. Many have expressed their support for the MLA’s initiative, stating that previous efforts only provided temporary respite. With the recent push in the Assembly, there is optimism that the area will soon have a cleaner and healthier environment.
The increased attention to the garbage crisis in Bagbera suggests that authorities may soon implement a permanent waste management strategy. As discussions progress, the residents await a formal response from the government, hoping that decisive action will finally put an end to years of neglect.
