DGP Anurag Gupta has implemented a new dress code for police officers and jawans. Now no policeman will be able to wear colourful sweaters or jackets with the uniform. Everyone will have to wear only khaki coloured woolen sweaters and jackets.
The DGP has ordered that police officers and personnel will wear only the prescribed khaki coloured sweaters or jackets in the winter season. Apart from this, the jacket should also have a badge according to their post. SPs and officers of all districts and units will ensure compliance of this order. If any policeman does not follow this rule, disciplinary action will be taken against him.
The order also stated that during the tour and on social media, many policemen are seen wearing sweaters, jackets and shoes of different colors, which is inappropriate. Uniform allowance is given to policemen by the government, despite this they are not following the prescribed dress code. For this reason, the rules have now been strictly implemented.
The DGP has also clarified that it will be mandatory for policemen to wear name plates with uniforms during duty, especially when they are interacting with the general public. This will make it easier for people to know who the policeman in front of them is and which unit he is associated with.
