Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the launch of a national-level pilot project for the land survey of urban settlements from Raisen. He stated that this government initiative will empower citizens in urban areas, simplify their lives, enhance urban planning, and help reduce land-related disputes.
Yadav made these remarks while addressing the national 'Naksha' urban land survey programme in Raisen. Chief Minister Yadav along with Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, inaugurated the City Survey Programme by launching a drone survey.
Yadav emphasized that land is one of the most valuable assets, and accurate, transparent records are crucial for ensuring security and financial stability. Under the Naksha programme, land records will be modernized and created through drone surveys in urban areas, promoting transparency and efficiency in land ownership. Yadav praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, noting that India's respect has grown around the globe due to his continuous efforts for public welfare and development. He highlighted the Ken-Betwa Link Project and the ongoing efforts to provide adequate irrigation water to every plot, which is increasing agricultural productivity and income of farmers. Yadav also mentioned that this year, wheat will be procured from farmers at Rs 2600 per quintal.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the government's efforts to promote industries by providing numerous facilities and creating employment opportunities for youth through the establishment of new factories. He also mentioned that milk production is being encouraged in the state, with grants being provided to cowherds who rear more than ten cows.
Additionally, the government is empowering women by connecting them with self-help groups. Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is a green state, with agricultural productivity increasing due to the continuous expansion of irrigation since 2003-04. He pointed out that while the irrigated area was only 7 lakh hectares before 2003, it has now reached over 48 lakh hectares. The Chief Minister set a target to irrigate one lakh hectares more and stated that this will be achieved through three major river-linking projects and other key irrigation initiatives in the state.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the programme being held in Raisen today is not just for Raisen or Madhya Pradesh, but for the entire country. He announced the launch of the Urban Land Survey "Naksha" pilot project, which will cover 152 urban local bodies across 26 states and 3 Union Territories. The survey will be conducted using drones in urban areas, and maps will be provided to landowners. Chauhan emphasized that many issues arise due to the lack of proper land records, and now citizens will have a systematic record of their land. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a revolution in land records management has begun.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced the launch of the watershed programme across Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing the critical importance of water for life. He noted that groundwater levels are steadily declining, with wells that once had water at 30 to 50 feet now requiring drilling beyond 100 feet.
The watershed scheme aims to address this issue by constructing various water structures, such as check dams, stop dams, and bori bandhan, to retain water within fields and villages. An allocation of Rs 8 thousand crore has been made for this initiative. Chauhan highlighted that Panchayats performing well will be encouraged, in line with Prime Minister Modi's vision for water conservation. He appealed to citizens to actively participate in the watershed campaign to help save water.
