Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s solar energy production capacity has increased 32 times, making the country the third-largest solar energy producer in the world. He emphasized the national goal of achieving 500 GW of total renewable energy production by 2030, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision. In line with this objective, Madhya Pradesh is making significant strides in the field of solar energy, with the state's renewable energy capacity growing more than 14 times over the past decade. The state government's robust policies, investment-friendly environment, and technological advancements are transforming Madhya Pradesh into the "Soorya Ka Warad Pradesh" (Land Blessed by the Sun).
At the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh’s technology-agnostic renewable energy policy has attracted substantial investment proposals. Prime Minister Modi underscored the significant progress in India's energy sector over the past decade, noting that the renewable energy sector has received an investment of USD 70 billion (over Rs 5 trillion) and has created more than one million jobs in the clean energy domain. He acknowledged Madhya Pradesh’s pivotal contribution to this growth, pointing out that the state’s total power generation capacity stands at approximately 31,000 MW, with 30% of it derived from green energy sources.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav asserted that solar energy will play a crucial role in shaping the future economy. Madhya Pradesh has demonstrated exceptional progress toward renewable energy goals, with renewable sources now constituting about 21% of the state’s total energy capacity. The government is driving this transformation by attracting major investments in the renewable energy sector, amounting to Rs 5,21,279 crore, which is expected to generate over 1,46,592 jobs. Leading companies such as Avaada Energy, MKC Infrastructure Limited, Axis Energy Venture, NSL Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd., Torrent Power, and Jindal India Renewable Energy have proposed significant investments at GIS-Bhopal.
These investments will not only boost renewable energy production but also accelerate industrial development in the state.
