Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi celebrated Makar Sankranti with enthusiasm here on Tuesday. A special assembly was conducted on the occasion and the students presented the significance of the festival in different states.
All the four houses organised a vibrant tableau to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of India and appreciate the regional traditions. The presentation included captivating depictions of Assam’s Bihu, Pongal in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Punjab’s Lohri, and Tusu from Jharkhand.
Each tableau highlighted the grandeur of these festivals in expressing gratitude for a bountiful harvest. A kite making and kite flying activity was also conducted in the premises. The event was an enriching experience for all and a true testament to our unity in diversity. School Principal, Paramjit Kaur, commended the creativity and teamwork of the students. She added that such celebrations at school foster children’s knowledge of India's heritage and regional festivals.
