The ‘Shaheed Samman Yatra cum Akhand Tiranga Yatra,’ one of the grandest patriotic processions in the country, is set to enter its tenth year with full enthusiasm and zeal on Sunday, March 23. The yatra, organized in honor of the martyrs, will commence from Agrico Transport Ground at 9:55 AM and follow its traditional route through Agrico Golchakkar, Bhalubasa, Sakchi, Vasant Cinema, Kalimati Road, and RD Tata Chowk. A significant tribute will be paid to the immortal martyrs at the Police Line before concluding back at Agrico Ground.
Naman’s Founder President, Amarpreet Singh Kale, shared details about the yatra in a press conference. He emphasized that Naman is an organization dedicated to preserving the dreams of martyrs, fostering patriotism, and upholding the honor of the national flag and freedom fighters. The organization operates with a non-political and non-communal spirit, uniting individuals from all walks of life, including doctors, professionals, journalists, ex-servicemen, editors, labor leaders, and representatives of various religious and social organizations.
The yatra will feature a chariot of Maa Bharti at the forefront, followed by four live tableaux depicting scenes related to martyrs. The entire team of Naman is working with great dedication to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession, with different teams assigned specific responsibilities.
Kale recalled that in 2016, the yatra was first organized as a response to anti-national slogans raised in the country. Since then, it has become an annual tradition held on March 23, commemorating the martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.
For the 10th consecutive year, Naman has made extensive preparations for the yatra and seeks full support, participation, and cooperation from the citizens. Thousands, including patriotic youth, women, and representatives from social and religious groups, are expected to participate with great enthusiasm. Before the yatra begins, martyr families and ex-servicemen will be honored in a brief ceremony. The procession will be greeted and welcomed at multiple locations across the city, and tributes will be paid at the Police Line.
Amarpreet Singh Kale has urged citizens, including women, youth, social and religious organizations, senior citizens, and intellectuals, to join the yatra in large numbers with their families and contribute to maintaining its grandeur and significance.
