Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday approved contracts worth Rs 109.30 crore during the meeting of the High-Powered Works Committee (HPWC) in Chandigarh, including establishing an Ultra-Modern Fire Station in Panipat Municipal Corporation area at a cost of Rs 17.85 crore. Negotiations with various bidders during the meeting resulted in a significant cost saving of Rs 6.92 crore.
The government official spokesperson said that approval was also given for installation of new LEDs and replacement of existing street lights with energy-efficient LED street lights, along with a Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) panel for a smart lighting system in Yamunanagar, at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore. Additionally, the implementation of a smart street light system within the limits of Ambala Municipal Corporation, which includes replacing conventional street lights and installing new LED luminaires integrated with the Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS), was approved at a cost of Rs 14.70 crore.
In the meeting, Saini directed the concerned officers that all works be completed within the prescribed time frame, adding that any delays would hold concerned contractor and officers accountable. He also emphasized the need to ensure use of quality materials in construction, making it clear that quality would not be compromised under any circumstances.

Saini, in a review meeting regarding preparations for Rabi procurement marketing season 2025-26, directed the officials of all four procurement agencies procuring wheat, mustard, barley, gram, lentil and sunflower for the Rabi marketing season 2025-26 to complete necessary arrangements in time so that farmers do not face any problem in selling crops in mandis.
“This time a bumper production of wheat is expected. Robust arrangements should be ensured for the purchase of wheat in the mandis,” he said, directing the Marketing Board officials to construct large sheds at vacant places in the mandis keeping in mind the future needs.
The procurement of mustard started from March 15 and lentils from March 20, which will continue till May 1. Similarly, the procurement of wheat, barley and gram will start from April 1, while the procurement of sunflower will start from June 1.
