Community health centre Panki is in the vortex of the controversy. Here a patient is alleged to have been given injection of higher antibiotic the vial of which had expired long ago in July 2024.
The patient who got an injection of an expired higher antibiotic is doing fine except his anger which is raging in his heart over the negligence of the community health centre at Panki.
Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar along with a couple of senior doctors namely Dr Anil Kumar Sriwastaw and Dr S K Ravi conducted an inquiry about the goof up in the life saving higher antibiotic injection given to a patient.
"Such negligence is not acceptable. It's criminal negligence. Person or persons responsible for this severe lapse of duty and responsibility will face stringent action" reiterated the civil surgeon.
Civil surgeon conceded the vial of the injection was definitely a government supply as it was 'not for sale'.
Again the batch number of the vial of the injection was in the stock of this community health centre which is claimed to have been exhausted by June 2024 as its expiry was due in June 2024 from the date of manufacturing which was 2022.
"I wonder as to how the same batch number vial of the injection resurfaced in March 2025 when this community health centre claims to have exhausted it in 2024," equipped the civil surgeon.
He agreed to an apprehension of some such vials of injection being stolen by the staff of this community health centre to earn some money and here for some error the already expired injection was used for a patient.
The man had arranged this vial of the injection most surreptitiously posing as if he had obtained it from the store house of the medicines while the fact of the matter is this man didn't approach the store keeper at all nor this vial of the injection was ever delivered to this man at all.
The man who gave this expired injection has been identified who has confessed to have committed this gross negligence and blunder too.
The man is a contractual outsource personnel who is set to lose his employment here.
Civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said "This man is a thick skinned fellow. He holds the medical officer in charge of this community health centre in utter disregard. He avoids phone calls from his superiors."
Three persons of this community health centre comprising medical officer in charge Dr Mahender, the man who administered this expired injection and the storekeeper have been shown cause to explain as to why each of these three should not be taken to task for such a life threatening negligence.
Civil surgeon further said there are complaints about patients given bad behaviour on their robe, names and faith at this community health centre at Panki.
