Hailstorm, rain spell to end in Madhya Pradesh, dry weather ahead

The abrupt spell of hailstorm and rainfall would end soon as the active systems have lost their intensity providing relief to farmers, dry weather conditions would be witnessed across the state according to Met.

The period of hailstorms, rain, and storms in Madhya Pradesh is expected to end by Sunday, with temperatures set to rise over the next three days. The mercury could increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius, with the change in weather being noticeable from March 25-26, as a Western Disturbance becomes active from Sunday. This disturbance will primarily impact the Western Himalayan region but is expected to affect Madhya Pradesh after two days.

On Sunday, the weather in the state showed mixed patterns. While Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain experienced sunshine, drizzle which occurred in districts like Shahdol, Rewa, Sidhi, Mauganj, and Anuppur.

Bhopal began feeling the effects of rising temperatures on Sunday, with the maximum temperature crossing 35.1 degree celsius. Similar conditions were observed in Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior.

Over the past two days, 15 districts in the state experienced rain and hail, including Shahdol, Anuppur, Sidhi, Satna, Katni, Singrauli, Damoh, Panna, Dindori, Umaria, Sagar, Balaghat, Seoni, Jabalpur, and Rewa. The weather impacted over 55 towns and cities, with hail reported in areas like Sagar and Umaria.

For the next two days, the weather will remain clear. No rain alerts are expected on March 24 and 25, with bright sunshine expected throughout the day.

However, from March 27 to 31, the state will experience rising temperatures again. Heatwaves are likely, with temperatures in many areas surpassing 40°C, triggering heatwave conditions when temperatures exceed 40°C or rise by 4.6°C above normal. The meteorological department has predicted intense heat for the next few months, with a heatwave expected for 15 to 20 days between March and May. April and May will see the peak of this intense heat, with hot winds blowing for 30 to 35 days.

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of the new system will be seen in the state from March 25-26.

A Western Disturbance has become active from Sunday, which will affect the Western Himalayan region. The effect can be seen in the state after two days.

Earlier on Saturday, a mixed effect of weather was seen in the state. There was intense sunshine in Bhopal, Indore-Ujjain, while hailstorm, rain and storm occurred in Shahdol, Rewa, Sidhi, Mauganj, Anuppur etc. districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, rain and storm occurred in Shahdol, Anuppur, Sidhi, Satna, Katni, Singrauli, Damoh, Panna, Dindori, Umaria, Sagar, Balaghat, Seoni, Jabalpur, Rewa.

The sun will shine brightly on this day as well. There is no rain alert.
