Members of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) supported by Birsa Agricultural University (BAU), Ranchi and ICAR-CRRI will visit Sahyadri Farmer Producer Company, Nashik (Maharashtra) from March 24 to March 27.
This study tour has been sponsored by NABARD, Regional Office, Ranchi.
The team started its journey from BAU campus on March 21. The team includes 25 BOD members and 2 officers.
On this occasion, Head, Department of Agricultural Extension Education and Co-PI, FPO Project, Dr. BK Jha said that Sahyadri Farmer Producer Company, Nashik is one of the best FPOs in the country. He expressed hope that this study tour will inspire the FPO members of Jharkhand and they will expand their work further and achieve significant achievements.
On this occasion, senior officials of BAU, Dean, Agriculture, Dr. DK Shahi, DSW, Dr. BK Agarwal, Associate Dean, CAE, Engineer DK Rusia and Dr. Scientific Advisor, PB Saha were present. They were bid farewell with best wishes by the Vice Chancellor.
This study tour is being led by Coordinator, FPO Project, Abhishek Srivastava. The main objective of this tour is to understand the management, marketing strategies and business innovations of Farmer Producer Companies and to motivate the farmers of Jharkhand for their economic empowerment.
