The 76th Foundation Day celebrations of the 7th Battalion (Special Armed Forces) culminated on Friday. More than 2,500 policemen and their families participated in the event, which was organized to foster a sense of mutual brotherhood and coordination among the force.
Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, the chief guest, praised the battalion’s contribution to law enforcement and security, emphasizing that events like these strengthen camaraderie within the police force. "Such gatherings reinforce the idea that every policeman, regardless of rank, plays an equally important role," he said.
The four-day celebrations, held from April 1 to 4, featured a range of activities, including sports competitions, motivational seminars, health awareness camps, and cultural performances. On the final day, DGP Makwana presented awards to distinguished individuals, including Lavekesh Gurjar (IIT selection), international boxer Kumari Mahi Lama, and Kumari Divyani Parmar (AIR 88 in CLAT 2025 under EWS category). He encouraged the regular organization of such programs to boost morale and enhance efficiency among personnel.
Reflecting on the rich history of the 7th Battalion, which was originally formed as the Bhopal Armed Constabulary in 1950, DGP Makwana lauded its role in maintaining law and order, handling special operations, and contributing to national security. He commended the cultural performances that showcased the talents of police personnel and their families.
The "Bada Khana" tradition, held at Motilal Nehru Stadium, allowed officers and their families to dine together in a spirit of unity.
