Drones, paragliders, and hot air balloons banned at Minto Hall and IGRMS

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence & Security, Urban Police Bhopal,  Sonakshi Saxena (IPS), has announced that due to the VVIP security arrangements for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, restrictions have been imposed on flying drones, paragliders, hot air balloons, and other flying objects within a 5-kilometre radius of Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre (Minto Hall) and Indira Gandhi National Museum of Mankind, Shyamla Hills, Bhopal. These areas are designated as Red Zone and No-Flying Zone from 12:00 PM on 23rd February to 3:00 PM on 24th February 2025. Violating this order will result in legal action under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code 2023. Commercial flights are exempt.

Special traffic arrangements have been made to ensure smooth movement and security during the Prime Minister’s visit. Several roads will face restrictions and diversions. During the Prime Minister’s travel from State Hangar to Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre, major roads and intersections will be temporarily restricted. Passenger buses from Indore and Ujjain will terminate at Halalpur Bus Stand, and buses from Rajgarh-Biaora will be rerouted via Mubarakpur Bypass and other diversions.

For commercial and heavy vehicles, movement will be restricted from 2:30 PM at key points, including Roshanpura Chauraha, Polytechnic Chauraha, Kamla Park, Retghat, VIP Road, Lalghati, and Gandhinagar Tiraha. Alternative routes will include Bharatmata Chauraha, Bhadbhada Chauraha, Sakshi Dhaba Tiraha, Neelbad Tiraha, and Khajuri Bypass.

Private two-wheelers and four-wheelers will face restrictions from 3:00 PM on roads near Roshanpura, Kamla Park, Retghat, VIP Road, Lalghati, and Gandhinagar Tiraha. Alternative routes will include Bhadbhada Chauraha, Neelbad, Ratibad, and Jhagariya.
