In a bid to reinforce transparency, accountability and a result-oriented administrative system, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday directed all Head of Departments (HODs) to finalise their action plans for the next 100 days, six months and nine months. At the meeting of all HoDs, the chief minister said these plans must be structured into detailed working charts, with consistent progress reports submitted to the Chief Secretary for review.
This process, she said, will ensure real-time monitoring and prompt decision-making. The meeting focused on reviewing the implementation of public welfare schemes, budgetary allocations, infrastructure development and key sectors such as education, health, transport, and water supply. Delhi CM directed all departments to define their priorities and ensure that they are fulfilled within the stipulated timelines. She emphasised the need for a systematic approach, directing officers to prepare working charts and submit regular progress reports to the Chief Secretary. Departments were also instructed to make the public grievance redressal system more responsive and effective.
She stated that officers who perform their duties diligently will receive the full support of the government, but those who exhibit negligence will face action. The main objective of the meeting was to reinforce transparency, accountability, and a result-oriented administrative system.
“Departments were directed to take swift action on critical civic issues, including water supply shortages, drainage and waterlogging, pollution control, the
quality of healthcare services and the
availability of essential medicines. She specifically directed officials to ensure there is no shortage of diagnostic equipment or medicines in hospitals,” the Delhi government said in a statement.
“Providing further insights, CM Rekha Gupta highlighted the Delhi Government’s commitment to providing improved public services. She said, “Merely announcing schemes is not sufficient—effective implementation and delivery of benefits to the public are equally essential.”
The meeting covered a range of critical issues, including education, healthcare, transportation, medicine availability, water problems, waterlogging, pollution, infrastructure development, governance and grievance redressal,” it said.
The chief minister concluded the meeting by saying that the people of Delhi have placed their trust in this government. “It is now our responsibility to fulfill every promise we’ve made. If all departments work together, Delhi can be transformed into a model city,” she said.
