Sunday, 23 February 2025 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

To celebrate the onset of spring, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Saturday inaugurated the two day 'Palaash' flower festival, organised by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).  He urged residents to visit District Park, Sector 16, Dwarka Golf Course Road, and later Smriti Van in Mayur Vihar Phase-III from February 28 to March 2.

The festival, celebrating the beauty of spring, features a vibrant display of flowers and plants, aiming to enhance Delhi's green cover and floral charm. The first phase of the Palaash festival is being celebrated at Dwarka on February 22 and 23 while the second phase will be organized on February 28, March 1 and 2 at Smriti Van MayurVihar Phase III.

"Inaugurated the two-day Palaash 2025, DDA's vibrant Flower Festival at Dwarka, which celebrates the beauty of spring in Delhi with a stunning array of flowers and plants," Saxena said in a post on X. " This enchanting event unites nature, culture, and joy, marking Delhi's journey toward becoming a City of Flowers. I encourage everyone to visit District Park, Sector 16, Dwarka Golf Course Road, and later at Smriti Van, Kondli Gharoli, Mayur Vihar Phase-III from Feb 28 to March 2, 2025, to experience this floral spectacle. Explore diverse displays, purchase Tulip bulbs to cultivate your own garden, and enjoy delicious treats from various food stalls. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature and celebrate the love for flowers!," LG said  in the post on X. The festival offers a chance to explore diverse floral displays, purchase tulip bulbs and enjoy food stalls.

Saxena appreciated the efforts of the DDA in organizing the festival on such a grand scale. He said that government would work in a mission mode to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the national capital. Saxena said apart from creating recreational public greens like Baansera, Asita and YanumaVatika, massive plantation of Tulips across the capital added significantly to the aesthetics of the city while also receiving huge appreciation and applause from the people.

DDA has been organizing flower festivals every year since 2023 over its Green spaces. However, this year, the grandeur of the event can be experienced by the public for five days over two weekends at Dwarka and Mayur Vihar respectively.
