Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna held a meeting with the crop damage farmers and officials of the block due to hailstorm at Bhandra Block Office on Saturday. In the meeting, farmers were informed about the damage caused to wheat and other crops due to hailstorm. In the meeting, information was given by the District Coordinator of the Insurance Company of the Insurance Company that has been informed that the farmers who have been cropped up can dial to the toll free number 14447 within 72 hours and lodge their complaints about their harmed crops before the insurance company. After the complaint is filed, the insurance company will investigate the complaint by going to the site.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all the Block Development Officers, all Zonal Officers and District Agricultural Officers to inform the farmers for information about the crop loss. Also, applications should be received from farmers by organizing camps in all panchayats. When the farmers will register their registration from which they will get a unique ID which will be necessary in further action.
The site was inspected by the Deputy Commissioner by a farmer in village Balsota Sarnatoli of Bhunro Panchayat, whose watermelon cultivation was damaged due to hailstorm. Also, necessary instructions were given to the Zonal Officer and Block Development Officer Bhandra. Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, Block Development Officer, Zonal Officer and Farmer were present on the occasion.
