Congress's thinking is anti-tribal: Sameer Oraon

Thursday, 03 April 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

National President of BJP Scheduled Tribe Front, former MP Sameer Oraon has hit back at the statement of Congress State President. He said that for 60 years, Congress party kept tribals as vote bank only, did not care about development. Today, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, schemes for all-round development of tribal society are coming to the ground. Before this, under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Central Government created Tribal Ministry, and paved the way for development.

Oraon said that for the last more than 5 years, the government is running in the state with the support of Congress. Why PESA law has not been implemented? Who has stopped giving forest lease?

He said that the land of tribal society is being looted by intruders, who has stopped us from protecting them? Everyday humiliating incidents are happening with tribal sisters and daughters, why does the government not show interest in stopping this?

Oraon further said that this government could not form a women's commission in 5 years. Land is not being made available to install towers to improve connectivity in tribal villages.

He said that the government is not paying attention to the fact that middlemen are robbing the food grains of the Garib Kalyan Yojana. He said that were Sandhya Topno, Rupa Tirkey, Rubika Pahadia not from the tribal community?

Oraon said that if the Sirmatoli Sarna Sthal dispute is seen now, then why is this government complicating the matter. Whereas the people of the community have also given land to ensure that the dispute does not escalate.

The former MP said that it is clear from this that there is a huge difference between the words and actions of the Indy alliance government. This government is not a well-wisher of the tribal community.
