Under the leadership of Jharkhand Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee President Gunjan Singh, a Dharna-Demonstration program was organized in front of Raj Bhavan, Ranchi today demanding immediate implementation of Women Reservation Bill and inclusion of OBC category in women reservation.
After the Dharna, a memorandum was submitted to the Governor. The Dharna program was mainly addressed by Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Congress Legislature Party Leader Pradeep Yadav, Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tarki, former State President Rajesh Thakur, former Union Minister Subodhkant Sahay, former Minister Bandhu Tirkey, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, Ravindra Singh, Jaishankar Pathak, Satish Paul Munjani, Gajendra Singh etc.
JPCC President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said that former Congress President, Sonia Gandhi had got the 33 per cent bill passed during the UPA regime. Congress Party always talks about women empowerment. In Jharkhand, our alliance gave 2500 rupees under the Maiya Samman Yojana to empower women economically. Caste census was conducted in Telangana on the announcement of Rahul Gandhi. I want to thank the Chief Minister of that state Revanth Reddy for increasing the OBC reservation to 42 per cent. The BJP government sitting in the center passed the women reservation bill but has not implemented it yet. This clearly shows that there is extreme indifference towards women.
Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey joined the Dharna demonstration program and said that the BJP government at the center is only cheating on the question of women's rights and security. For vote politics, the central government has given a toy in the name of women reservation. The women of the country will have to wait for a long time to take advantage of this. On the other hand, the announcement made by Rahul Gandhi is visible on the ground. OBC reservation in Telangana and 50 percent rights to women in the cabinet by the Congress in Jharkhand are proof of the fact that Congress does what it says.
Tirkey said that the fight for women's rights and security will continue in the future as well. Women will have to unite and take their fight to its conclusion. State Congress leaders including Congress state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, state executive president Bandhu Tirkey, state Mahila Congress president Gunjan Singh, marketing board president Ravindra Singh, state Hindu religious trust board president Jaishankar Pathak participated in the program organized by Mahila Congress at Raj Bhavan.
