Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said that the State Government is committed to making the state a model in terms of development and public welfare by following the principles of Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram. Acknowledging the legacy of Rahbar-e-Azam Choudhary Chhotu Ram, he said that the leader dedicated his life to the welfare of farmers, labourers, and the poor. His efforts were focused on advocating for the interests of farmers, labourers, and petty shopkeepers.

He paid floral tributes to Chhotu Ram by laying flowers at his memorial located in the Jat Shikshan Sansthan campus in Rohtak on the 144th birth anniversary of Chhotu Ram.

Saini announced a discretionary grant of Rs 31 lakh to the Jat Shikshan Sansthan. Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda also announced a Rs 21 lakh grant to the institution. Regarding the institution’s demands, the Chief Minister said that once the institution deposits the matching grant as per the rules for the hostel at Maharani Kishori Mahila Mahavidyalaya, the government will allocate Rs. 10 crore for the project. He also assured that the feasibility of the other demands raised by the institution would be examined.

He said that the government has decided to procure 100 per cent of crops in the state at the minimum support price (MSP), ensuring that farmers receive payments within 72 hours of the transaction. To date, approximately Rs 1,25,000 crore has been deposited into the accounts of around 12 lakh farmers in the state. In response to reduced rainfall during the Kharif season, the government has provided assistance of Rs 2000 per acre to help reduce farmers' costs, amounting to Rs 1345 crore in total aid.

He highlighted the financial support farmers are receiving through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, under which Rs 6000 annually is provided to farmers to help purchase agricultural inputs. So far, Rs 342 crore has been disbursed to farmers in the state across 18 installments, with a total of Rs 6203 crore provided nationwide.

The Chief Minister encouraged farmers to adopt horticultural crops and said that Maharana Pratap Horticulture University is being set up in Uchani, Karnal district, at an investment of Rs 700 crore across 65 acres. He called on parents to take a pledge to protect their children from drug addiction, emphasizing the need for community involvement in combating this social issue.

He mentioned that the government has established a college every 20 km to ensure easy access to education. Additionally, a decision has been made to provide free education to the daughters of families with an annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh in the state. To restore the youth's trust in the government, he highlighted that 1.71 lakh young individuals have been employed based on merit. As per the Sankalp Patra, the government plans to provide two lakh jobs to the youth without any kharchi-parchi.
