Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has been honored with the prestigious SAIL Corporate Excellence Award for the year 2023-24, securing the title of the Best Integrated Steel Plant among all units of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). This annual award, presented by SAIL’s corporate office, evaluates the performance of various plants based on 14 key parameters, including productivity, profitability, product quality, environmental compliance, innovation, digital transformation, and future expansion strategies. BSL’s outstanding performance in these areas has earned it this esteemed recognition for the first time.
Under the leadership of Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director In-Charge, BSL has demonstrated exceptional efficiency and strategic vision, leading to this remarkable achievement. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 24 in New Delhi, where SAIL Chairman Amarendu Prakash will present the honor in the presence of senior directors and officials from the company.
Apart from the corporate recognition, BSL employees have also excelled in individual categories. Yogesh Prasad Sahu (HM Electrical) has been named Cost Champion for his excellence in resource optimization and cost management. Deep Kumar Saxena (SMS-2 & CCS) has received the Innovation Expert award for his contributions toward technological advancements and process improvements.
In the special recognition category, Abhishek Sahu (Coke Oven & Coal Chemicals) has been honored as a Role Model (Divyangjan) for his exemplary dedication and performance despite physical challenges. Parichay Bhattacharjee (CRM-3) has been awarded the Digital Mastermind title for his leadership in driving digital transformation at BSL. Additionally, Hina Parveen has been recognized as a Women Trailblazer for her outstanding leadership and contributions in her field.
Director In-Charge Birendra Kumar Tiwari congratulated all award winners and the entire BSL family for their hard work and commitment. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the collective efforts of the workforce in making BSL a leader in the steel industry.
