A 16-year-old student lost his life in a tragic accident after being struck by a speeding train. The incident occurred between Sukhi Sewania and Chaubara when the train stopped on the outer track and the teenager stepped out due to feeling unwell.
The deceased, Yash Raghuvanshi (16), was a Class 12 student at a reputed school in Ratibad and the only son of his family. He was traveling with his maternal uncle, Neeraj, on Thursday night when the accident took place. According to Neeraj, Yash began feeling nauseous and insisted on getting off the train. Despite his uncle’s attempt to stop him, he stepped down to vomit near the tracks. Unfortunately, a high-speed train passing from the opposite direction created a strong gust of wind, causing Yash to lose balance and get hit by the train. He died on the spot.
After the post-mortem on Friday afternoon, his body was handed over to the grieving family. His father, Sunil Raghuvanshi, is a sports teacher at a private college. The loss of their only child has left the parents inconsolable. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
In a separate incident, a 20-year-old engineering student committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at Chhola Mandir on Thursday afternoon. The deceased, Sakshi Nirala, was allegedly facing harassment from a youth, which may have led to her taking the extreme step.
According to the police, Sakshi, daughter of Manoj Nirala, was a resident of Kutir Nagar, Chhola Mandir, and was pursuing engineering from a private college. Around 12 PM on Thursday, she consumed a poisonous substance at her home. Her family rushed her to the hospital, but despite efforts, she succumbed during treatment at around 3 PM.
Following the incident, a large number of Bajrang Dal activists gathered at the Chhola Mandir police station in the evening, demanding strict action against the accused. Initial investigations suggest that harassment by a youth might have pushed her to take her own life. The police have assured a thorough investigation into the matter, following which the activists dispersed.
