Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, the Bokaro district education department has summoned private school principals for a meeting on March 25, 2025, to address concerns regarding frequent fee hikes and mandatory book purchases. The meeting, scheduled at 11:00 AM at the Samaharnalaya Sabha Kaksh in Bokaro, will be chaired by the sub-divisional officer of Chas/Bermo.
Parents have repeatedly raised complaints about unregulated fee increases and the enforcement of book and uniform purchases from specific vendors at inflated prices. Allegations suggest that schools frequently change prescribed textbooks, preventing students from reusing materials and increasing financial burdens on families.
In response, the education department has directed several private schools, including D.A.V. Public School (Sector-4 and Chas), Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Holy Cross Public School, St. Xavier's School, and others, to attend the meeting with relevant records. School representatives are expected to provide explanations regarding their fee structures, book replacement policies, and vendor selection processes.
This intervention follows mounting frustration among parents, who argue that such practices contradict Bokaro’s reputation as an educational hub by making quality education increasingly expensive. The administration, under Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav’s leadership, aims to establish fair and transparent educational policies while ensuring that schools operate within regulatory frameworks.
Parents are hopeful that this meeting will lead to necessary reforms, curbing exploitative practices and making education more accessible and affordable in the city.
