BJP targets FM for ignoring Vajpayee in budget speech

Wednesday, 05 March 2025 | PNS | Ranchi

BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today targeted the state government during the discussion on the state budget 2025.26 in the House. In his measured style, he termed the budget as directionless, short-sighted, anti-development and said that the state government is doing politics even in the budget speech.

He said that the fact that Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore did not take the name of Jharkhand creator revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji in the budget speech exposes the vile mentality of the government.

He said that the people of the state know the truth about who fulfilled the dream of a separate Jharkhand state. Today, the same people are sitting in power whose history has been of selling, buying and defaming the Jharkhand movement. Those who once talked about forming a separate state over their dead bodies are today sitting in power in Jharkhand.

He said that the statue of revered Atal ji is installed at the main gate of the Assembly, he lives in the hearts of the people of Jharkhand, but the finance minister turned out to be a small-minded person.

He said that the size of the budget looks big but its amount does not reach the public. The government's management is a failure. Even after the foundation stone is laid, the contractors are not able to start the work of the schemes due to lack of money. Time passes while waiting for the money.

He said that the government is not telling from where it will bring money for the budgetary provision. Expenses in the non-plan head have been increased and the amount of the plan head has been cut heavily. If the state government makes a little restoration, then the amount in the non-plan head will increase further.

He said that in the current financial year, the government's revenue collection till now is only 58.82% and in that too the share of central tax is 28.35%. From this it can be understood how much development the government wants to do.

He said that the state government continuously spreads propaganda and confusion among the public against the Modi government of the Center. Whereas the Modi government provides ample assistance to Jharkhand in all areas.

He said that the public understands that the state government does not work but the public is unable to understand the blame put on the central government.

He said that it seems that Jharkhand government does not want to thank the central government or the officials do not give correct information to the government.

Abua govt is anti-tribal, anti-farmer

BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdev said that the Abua government is a government with anti-tribal, indigenous, rural and farmer thinking. Big cuts have been made in the current budget as compared to the budget of 2024-25. In the budget of the year 2025-26, a big cut of Rs 700 crore was made in the budget of the Agriculture Department related to farmers. Apart from this, cuts were also made in the fisheries and dairy departments. The cuts made in the food supply department that provides food to the poor and in the health department are understandable. It seems that education is also not in the focus of the government. That is why the budget of technical, higher, secondary and primary education has also been reduced. The government is also not focused on industries. Therefore, the budget of the industry department has also been cut.
