BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde lauded the Union Budget 2025-26, presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that the budget aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to eliminate poverty while positioning India on the global stage. He was addressing mediapersons here at Hotel Tansen in on Sunday.
Tawde stated that the budget has been crafted with a vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, focusing on five key goals: providing 100% quality education, enhancing workforce skills, transforming India into a global food basket through farmers, increasing women's participation in economic activities to 70%, and fostering overall economic empowerment. He asserted that the budget ensures provisions for the welfare, development, and financial strengthening of every section of society, making it a landmark step toward India’s long-term progress.
Tax Relief and Kisan Credit Card Expansion to Benefit Millions
Tawde highlighted the tax relief measures introduced in the budget, which will significantly benefit the middle class. The tax slab has been increased beyond Rs 12 lakh, while senior citizens have also received additional exemptions. The TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) limit on interest income and rental earnings for senior citizens has been raised from Rs 2.4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh annually, benefiting millions across the country.
For farmers' economic upliftment, the budget introduces the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Yojana, aimed at increasing farmers' incomes and making agriculture a profitable venture. The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan limit has been raised from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, benefiting millions of farmers in Madhya Pradesh and across the nation. This move is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure smoother access to markets for farm produce.
Rs 2 Crore Loan Scheme for Women and Marginalized Communities to Boost Entrepreneurship
The BJP leader also emphasized the budget’s focus on entrepreneurship and employment generation. The investment and business expansion limit has been increased to 2.5%, while Rs 10,000 crore has been allocated for MSME startups and small-scale industries.
For the first time, the government has introduced a scheme to provide Rs 2 crore in loans to five lakh women and individuals from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities to help them establish businesses. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to financial inclusion and economic self-sufficiency for marginalized groups.
Additionally, the Jal Jeevan Mission has successfully provided tap water to 80% of households across India. The remaining 20% of the project will be completed by 2028, with extended funding in the budget.
