Hundreds of delegates arrived in the city for the two-day Global Investors Summit on Sunday. Dignitaries, investors, and officials were warmly welcomed at Raja Bhoj Airport with traditional hospitality.
Among the prominent arrivals were Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan, Union Minister for Fisheries George Kurian, BJP leader Shiv Prakash, and Patanjali Chairman Acharya Balkrishna. Mayor Malti Rai greeted them at the airport with floral bouquets, marking the start of a high-profile event.
Complementing the summit, a three-day Rural Products Fair has begun at Raag Bhopali, 10 Number Market. Women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are displaying handcrafted Zardozi items, Chanderi sarees, Bagh print textiles, and silk ensembles, showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s rich artisanal heritage.
Visitors can also savour local delicacies like bhelpuri, chaat-phulki, and tea while enjoying cultural performances such as the Sohani Sangeet Sandhya. The fair highlights the success of the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative, which has trained 105 women in intricate Zardozi embroidery.
With Bhopal seamlessly blending business and culture, the Global Investors Summit promises a unique experience for attendees. The city’s vibrant atmosphere and world-class hospitality are setting the scene for productive results when serious talks begin on Monday morning.
