A thief stole a bag containing ?2 lakh from a parked bike in broad daylight in the Berasia area of the state capital. The victim had withdrawn the cash from a bank just minutes before the incident.
The theft was captured on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby shop, and police are now analyzing the footage to identify and apprehend the culprit.
According to Arun Sharma, In-charge of Berasia police station, the victim, Mohar Singh Rajput, is a farmer. On Thursday afternoon, he withdrew Rs 2 lakh from a bank and placed the cash inside a bag, which he kept in the side compartment of his bike.
He then stopped at a shop for a smoke. However, when he returned, he found the bag missing. Despite asking locals, he was unable to gather any information about the thief.
Following his complaint, police arrived at the scene and reviewed CCTV footage, which clearly showed the thief stealing the bag. Based on the suspect’s appearance in the footage, officers have launched an investigation and are working on his identification.
A case of theft has been registered against the unknown suspect, and police teams are actively searching for him. Further investigation is underway.
