Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi hosted the Annual Sports Day, Udaan 2024-25 bringing together students and teachers for a fun-filled day of athletic competitions and excitement.
The event, held at the school's ground, saw enthusiastic participation from students and teachers. The day commenced with a welcome song followed by a spectacular Chau dance performance, a semi-classical dance form blending martial art, folk tradition, and story-telling. The dance was a dedication to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his 150th year of birth anniversary. The dance narrated Birsa Munda’s life’s story and his patriotic fervour. The competitions included track and field events, such as 100m race, relay race, hurdle race, and slow cycling race.
The Chief Guest of the event was Prof. C. Jeganathan, Vice Chancellor, Sarala Birla University. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, Registrar, Sarala Birla University, Ranchi, Samarjit Jana, Principal, JVM Shyamali, Niraj Kumar Sinha, Principal, Firayalal Public School, Ranchi.
The highlight of the event was the Jumbled March, where students from each house proudly displayed their school spirit and unity. The winners of the various events were awarded medals and certificates. Yajurved was declared as the Best house of the event.
Principal, Paramjit Kaur, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. She added that Sports Day is an integral part of our school's calendar, and we're thrilled to see our students showcase their talents and sportsmanship.
In his closing remarks, the Chief Guest praised the students for their impressive performances and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion for sports.
