Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said that the State Government has made comprehensive arrangements for wheat procurement and all necessary preparations have been completed in the Mandis to ensure farmers do not face any difficulties.
Talking to Reporters in Panipat, Saini said that the state government stands with farmers. "All officers have been instructed to ensure lifting within 48 hours and that the money for the crop is sent to the farmers' accounts within the stipulated period. Officials should also ensure to provide basic facilities to farmers in the mandis," he said.
He said that proper arrangements for gunny bags, cleanliness, and drinking water have been made in the Mandis and to ensure timely payments, guidelines have been issued to make payments to farmers within 48 to 72 hours after the procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). This year, the central government has set the wheat price at Rs. 2,425 per quintal, he added.
After attending the state-level workshop of the BJP at Samalkha, he said that on the occasion of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give two big gifts to Haryana as the airport located in Hisar will be inaugurated and the foundation stone of 800 MW power unit will be laid in Yamunanagar.
Saini said extensive arrangements are being made for the preparation and arrangements of the programme regarding the Prime Minister's visit. On April 5, a meeting will be held with all the ministers, MLAs and district presidents of the state in Rohtak and the duty of the officials will be assigned.
