Talaiya police have arrested three persons including two women from different places in and around Talaiya area and seized 2.950 kg of Cannabis has been recovered from drug peddlers worth Rs 45000.
Acting swiftly on the information received, drugs and Rs 5.5 lakh cash was recovered. The arrested accused were identified as Nitin alias Ajay (35 years), Meenu (25 years) and Seema (47 years). All of them used to sell Cannabis in different areas of the city.
The police said that after interrogating the accused, ganja and cash were recovered by raiding 3 different places. In this, 1 kg 550 grams of ganja and cash Rs 5.50 lakh were recovered from Nitin, 850 grams of ganja from Meenu and 600 grams of ganja from Seema.
Police station in-charge CS Rathore said that information was received that some people are active in smuggling ganja in Talaiya area. The police formed three teams and decided to raid different places.
Every team was given the exact plan and information about the suspects, so that the operation could be carried out without any mistake. Interrogation of the smugglers is going on and information about their other network is being gathered.
The teams raided three places, the first team detained Nitin alias Ajay (35 years). 1 kg 550 grams of Cannabis and Rs 5,50,000 cash were recovered from him. Nitin used to run the main smuggling center on Saidiya School Road in Talaiya police station area.
